Fleet Tips: Fuel
Fleets use an enormous amount of fuel every single month. Fuel can account for over 70% of the monthly fleet spend. Fleet managers need the tools to identify lousy driver behavior and monitor exception reporting. It’s a fact that drivers idling vehicles, hard braking, and fast accelerations are costing the company additional dollars, preventing funding other projects. Teach your drivers about good driving behavior and why it’s essential. Show them and the supervisors/managers the math multiplied over the number of vehicles. Drive change through reporting and create an incentive for outstanding performance. Develop a program that utilizes driver scorecards to make it a fun and healthy competition. Also teach drivers about tier 1 and tier 2 fueling stations.
Also, check on your fuel rebate credits. Make sure they are calculated according to the contract.
